My name is Najy, & I’m creating this for my father Edward. He was admitted in January 2022 with shortness of breath. February 6, they moved him to the ICU & intubated him. We then found out he was having lung failure. He had high C02 levels & was put on ECMO (considered when life support doesn’t work) . With physical therapy he learned how to walk, move & eat again.
After 5 long months of fighting for his life, he came home. My family had to readjust everything in our lives now to care for my father. He needed help walking, eating and doing everyday tasks.
Unfortunately, my father was unresponsive on September 6. He started to have seizures. He got intubated again & lost all progress we made with therapy at home. He then was diagnosed with septic shock (life threatening infection causing organ failure) He is still admitted and has little to no movement in his body.
We made this GoFundMe because my father has not worked all year & can never work again. My mother was also out of work to take care of my father. This money will help pay for finances as bills and to get his transplant if he ever needs it. My dad has always given us everything & we are not ready to let him go. We are having a very hard year of many ups and downs , but will continue to fight for his health. We appreciate all contributions . Thank you! (:
