Camera shy but the best snuggles!

Our poor Loki

Our baby boy Loki needs our help. He is just a puppy, very friendly and loving to all animals and people. He is very energetic, and extremely smart. Unfortunately, he got free in the middle of the night on Thursday night, Friday morning, and one of our neighbors got scared of a random dog coming up to him and he shot Loki multiple times. Loki was missing for 20 hours, hiding in the mangroves. He was found clinging to a sea wall and the rescue began.

We immediately brought him in for surgery to patch up his cheek, shoulder, rib cage, and foot. The bulk of the wounds were deep holes but no fragments left behind and no major organs penetrated. However, the bullet that hit the foot was different. It tore one toe off and went through every digit of the foot, breaking each bone. The vet says they will be best to amputate the leg since a prosthetic might work but is way above our financial abilities.

We have already paid $2500 in vet fees for the initial surgery but the amputation will cost us another $2750. We are seeking any help possible from friends and family. Loki is an amazing puppy and definitely did not deserve this trauma. We are doing everything in our power to give him the best odds at a happy and healthy life.
