I pulled Romeo out of the shelter with ten minutes to spare. He was to be euthanized at exactly 3pm, that was his last and final deadline. He was 1 of 6 dogs who were present on a property during a trap (drug) house police raid. The owner came back to get only one of the dogs and left the other 5 at the shelter to die. In the shelter Romeo was shut down, curled in a ball, sick and not really eating. The vet examined him this morning and it turns out he has pneumonia which means he needs to be in isolation because he is contagious. He is still not eating but my hope is that when the medicines start working, his appetite will become greater. I secured a medical sponsor for him, but half of the money has already been spent on his vet from ONE day of treatment and boarding for the week. Most likely he will need more tests, more meds and also needs to be neutered once he gets stronger. He will need flea, tic and heartworm meds, vaccines and follow-up care. There are also his basic needs which have to be covered such as food, toys, a crate/mat, blanket, treats, etc. Your donations will help pay for all these things. Let's give Romeo a life he never knew existed. I am here to be the voice that he doesn't have. Thank you!
