Hello everyone, my name is Ciera Stribling and I am starting this gofundme to help my cousin Casey Combs and his family while they deal with the aftermath of his ‘Smoldering Diverticulitis’ diagnosis.

Around February of 2023 Casey started having ‘fire like’ pain in his abdomen thinking it was nothing he had continued with his life. In March of 2023 Casey flew out to california to go to his nieces funeral, the pain started getting worse after he got home. A few weeks later his wife had rushed him to the hospital where he was told that he had a perforated bowel as well as an extremely dangerous infection. They did not want to operate on him, because the chance of causing sepsis was too high to risk. After several rounds of antibiotics in order to get him to surgery, he still had an infection as well as an abscess.

For those who are unaware of what ‘Smoldering Diverticulitis’ is, it is a form of chronic complicated diverticulitis with continuous non-resolving abdominal pain that commonly requires surgical intervention.

On August 7, 2023 Casey went into surgery and they removed over 1 foot of his colon. They have informed him that he will be out of work for 8+ weeks

Casey has not been able to work consistently since March of 2023. He has a lovely family of 4, a wife and 3 sons. This beautiful family has fallen on hard times with only one working parent. It is definitely hard to raise a family as well as keep afloat during these times. The couple is trying to scrape by to get money for rent, food, electricity, medications, as well as supplies for their three children for school.

We are asking to help cover their rent, food, medications and other necessities that have been listed above.

For those that know Casey he has the biggest heart of gold you could find. He is such a hard working family man who never asks for anything. When he is not at work, you could find him attending his sons sporting events, or spending time with his wife.

Casey has been battling this terrible diagnosis with no end in sight, it is eating away at him. We are asking friends and family to share this, help get the word out, donate what you can, and if you can't, that's perfectly ok too just please share his story, any help, big or small, is greatly appreciated.
