On Saturday, June 6, 2015, our beloved Yadielys DeLeon Camacho was tragically killed in a motor vehicle accident while riding her bike. She is survived by many loving family members, including her parents, sister, grandmother, and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

A native of Puerto Rico, Yadielys came to the United States with an insatiable hunger to learn, working hard to progress in her English skills. This past year she was a second grade scholar at UP Academy Holland, where her enthusiasm for learning was undeniable. She showed a special interest in math, and loved racing the clock to complete as many math facts as she could in a given period of time. Yadielys also loved stories, always wanting her teacher to read out loud to her at dismissal time. She was known by her classmates for her bright and constant smile, and her ability to make others around her happy. She loved to play with her friends, listen to music, make art, and spend time with her family. She was an incredible older sister who loved taking care of her younger sister, Leoneilys. Anyone who met Yadielys is truly lucky and better off for having known her.

As you can imagine, this is a very tough time for Yadielys’s family, and your support for the family can go a long way. With funeral arrangements and ongoing bills, any amount will be meaningful and appreciated.

Thank you for your support, encouragement, and fellowship as we work together to honor the life of Yadielys DeLeon Camacho.
