Support for Gender Affirming Surgery

Hi all!

Thank you for making it to this link and considering supporting my gender affirming surgery. As many of you know, my journey to getting a surgery date has taken 3 years and many battles. Alleviating the financial stress of this celebratory step towards living authentically and joyfully would be incredibly supportive to me. I have recently completed my masters degree which has left me in debt and although I am grateful to leave school with a job I love, I am living paycheck to paycheck and not yet earning a livable wage. The $6,000 I am asking for will cover the cost of my OR room and post-op necessities with an extra $500 cushion. Any remaining money that is not used for my surgery and recovery needs will be donated to others in need of support in pursuit of gender affirming care. 

I have spent the past 4 years serving trans and gender nonconforming clients in the field of clinical mental health. After years of working in crisis support and 1:1 counseling, supporting others through their experience and efforts to become their most loved and authentic selves, I am excited, grateful, overwhelmed, nervous, verklempt, the list goes on, that it is finally my turn. I am very proud to be a leader/educator in mindfulness and mental health for my community and have witnessed first hand how my authenticity positively impacts and provides lifesaving care for TGNC adolescents and young adults. Asking for help is hard but I love being able to support my community and I can only continue to do so if I ask for support for myself.  It is good karma to ask for help and it is good karma to help others.
