Please Help These Children Come Home
Donation protected
As advised by an attorney the names and pictures of these children have since been removed to protect the family from the future family court hearings. Most of you know who the family is but if anyone wants to message us for more info please do so privately or reach out to the Mother.
The children 8 and 5, have been inseparable from their family. However, over the past 2 years, their family has been battling a vicious custody battle with their father. On Monday, March 9, 2020, the judge (referee) overruling the case unexpectedly ruled for the father to fully take them to live at his permanent residence in New Jersey 2 hours driving distance away. A place where the children have never been, and to live with people they have never met. Imagine being with your family every day for the past 5 and a half and 8 and a half years safe, happy and with the same friends and then suddenly being taken away. The children were absolutely devastated and terrified by this news. They left crying for their family, screaming at the courthouse and clinging to the mom yelling please don’t let this happen to me mom, please do something with the 8-year-old especially screaming to his mother, “Please Mom don’t let this happen. I don’t want to leave. I don’t want to leave school! I’m not going to go.” The ruling also stated that the children are not allowed to visit home. The father has had no visitations scheduled for a year, and prior to this, the children have always expressed that they didn’t want to see their father for reasons that some of you already know.
The mother has been self-sufficient and completely able to financially support the children, and has had the 8 year enrolled at a private school. Before this, the children were homeschooled after they were asked to leave the private school their father purposely had them traumatically withdrawn from. On Friday’s, the boy was always upset about leaving his school and having to wait the weekend to start again, so one could only imagine how traumatized he was to leave his school he was absolutely in love with after being traumatically asked to leave the first school with all his friends and then being afraid to go to a new school, falling in love with it but with a daily fear that he might have to leave again. The mother, teachers and his therapist assured him it would not happen again, but it did.
The children love New York City and their neighborhood and even sing a song about it. They are a big part of the community and have been a part of it since they were born. The local library, they love the semi-annual street fair so much and even were featured this year in the Queens ledger enjoying it. They are also enrolled in many local extracurriculars, including ice skating at the world ice arena, soccer at the FHYAA, gymnastics at Chelsea piers and at the local dance studio where her older sister also danced, cooking at Young Chef's Cooking Academy for almost 3 years, and baseball with the Forest Hills Athletic Association for the past 4 years. The little girl has been at her dance for 3 years and is looking forward to being on the dance team when she’s six years old. She looks forward to her recital every year at and has been preparing for her third recital in May since September. They are also a foster family for kittens for the ASPCA and one of their greatest joys was nursing these little kittens to health. They both miss their neighborhood, home, pets, mom, grandma and big sister. They are also a St. James Church family, and the children love and miss their church community. They want nothing more than to come home. We are raising money to help the family with very expensive attorney fees. Anything will help. Those of you who know them understand what an excellent mother and family they are.
We know these are hard times for everyone. This is a exceptionally hard time for everyone but trust us everything counts, $1, $5, anything will be greatly appreciated!
Please help bring them home as soon as possible! Today we can help them and one day it could be you! Especially in these times it’s all about helping others. Thank you in advance for any donation or support with this amazing family.
