In memory of Luca Bennett

Hi everyone, I’m Armin, Luca’s older brother.

On behalf of our whole family, I just want to say thank you. The support we’ve received since losing Luca in May has meant the world to us. From the messages and flowers to the number of people who came to the funeral, it really shows how many people loved Luca and how many lives he touched.

We’ve set up this fundraiser for anyone who would like to donate something in Luca’s memory. The money raised will go towards a memorial bench, his headstone and supporting a charity very close to our hearts: Lane End Farm Trust. Thank you to everyone who already donated via Percivals or who have popped money in a card, we are so grateful.

Lane End is a small local charity that works with disadvantaged children and young people, helping them build confidence and connect with nature. Luca loved being outdoors, animals, and his work as an apprentice joiner — the activities at Lane End Farm include caring for animals, gardening, and woodwork. We chose Lane End because we see so much of Luca in what they do. He was always someone who looked out for others — especially those who felt a bit out of place or needed a bit of extra support. He had a way of showing he cared, and people always felt comfortable around him. School wasn’t always easy for Luca, and we know that places like Lane End can be a lifeline for young people who need something a little different to help them succeed.

On Sunday 20th July Luca’s cousin Macca is organising the LLB7 Cup at Silverlands Football Pitch, Buxton, 11am – 6pm. Tideswell FC kick off against Luca’s XI at 1pm, alongside hot food, drinks at the bar, Tombola, face painting, cake sale & more. The following weekend, on Saturday 26th July, Tideswell FC (a club Luca adored playing for) are hosting the Luca Bennett Cup, a six-a-side tournament at Tideswell Sports Complex.

We are so grateful to the organisers of these events, and we welcome everyone to celebrate Luca’s life with us ahead of his 19th birthday on 29th July. We have set up this page for anyone who can’t be with us but would like to donate something – we can’t thank you all enough for your kindness.
