Everyone,
One of my co-workers, Christine Magnotta, family has been devastated by the wildfires in Oregan. She has her entire family now living with her in a small apartment.
Her 2 sisters who had just recently purchased their first homes have lost everything. The fire came so quickly her sisters were only able to pack a couple of suitcases before the sheriff escorted them out of their homes. Two days into the evacuation notice they received the news that their homes were a complete loss. Her oldest sister lost her home along with her husband’s business.
Her parents were able to escape with a bit more notice but their street was the fire line. Their house is fortunately still standing but so extremely smoke damaged they have to completely gut the house. They were able to get most of their pictures and sentimental items out, thank goodness. Her Grandpa was living in an apartment in her parents’ house so he has also been displaced. They have essentially lost everything that was left in their home because of the smoke damage.
They will all begin the process of rebuilding their homes and their lives while trying to find a temporary place for everyone to live.
There are so many things this family will need to begin the process of starting over. Household items, furniture, clothing, tools, etc.
No donation amount is too small and will go such a long way in support of helping this family to rebuild and purchase the essential items they need at this moment.
(One sisters home right before the evacuation).
This is the time for all of us to rally and support our friends, neighbors and co-workers. “For of those to whom much is given much is required.”
Thank you, Patty
