My name is Gene Truong, I am a 62 semi-retired man, working only during the tax season and collecting early social security retirement benefits. This car accident has caused me a fair amount of hardship and I’m hoping to recover before summer.

My medical bills are as follows:

On the night of Dec 5, 2022, while I was driving back to DC from Houston, TX, I hit a deer by accident on a deserted single lane highway shortly after midnight. Immediately after the impact, I lost complete control of my vehicle, my Toyota Camry spun a few revolutions, then flips a few times and landed in the muddy swamp off road.

The damage done to my car was extensive. Both the hood of the car and the driver side door had buckled inwards, and a sharp piece of sheet metal from the door sliced through my left leg between my knee and ankle, I was bleeding pretty badly but was able to find a towel to wrap around the torn flesh on my leg to slow down the bleeding.

My car had become completely inoperable except for the horn, which I pounded on continuously, every time a passing car came by. After almost an hour passed, the police and ambulance arrived. This accident happened on HWY 90 near a small town called Iowa, which is 60 miles west of Lafayette, LA.

I am asking for donations up to $19,600 to pay for my totally wrecked 2009 Toyota Camry and my medical bills. My healthcare insurance was with Kaiser HMO, so all of my medical bills were outside of coverage and my automobile insurance was for just liability, so it paid nothing for my totally wrecked car.
