URGENT Medical Matter; Mom's Open Heart Surgery
Donation protected
Dear Friends,
I am usually a private person and do not like sharing this information. However, unfortunately, my mother, 66 years young, suffered a heart attack in Bolivia (Home), where she was treated and somewhat stabilized; however, due to inadequate treatment, she developed heart failure and is now requiring a Double Bypass (possible triple bypass) surgery and mitral valve replacement via open heart surgery.
The problem is that there is only one capable doctor in Bolivia who can perform this operation (in a different city from where my parents reside). As this is a critical situation, she is in need of immediate medical care and that particular physician does not have availability to accommodate her in a timely manner. She has developed fluid in her lungs and has difficulty breathing. La Paz is also 12,000 ft above sea level and does not allow her to get adequate oxygen perfusion during this hard time. Thus, we have decided to take her to Chile, where she will be at sea level and can obtain immediate care from better doctors.
After the surgery is done, she will need to stay in a foreign country for two to three months to recover with my dad.
Due to all the reasons above and because we have already invested a lot of cash thus far to keep her stable while in Bolivia this past December, we are turning on this site with the goal of helping us offset the financial burden that has been placed upon myself and my family. Unfortunately, medical care in Bolivia is not the same as it is here in the United States; all medical treatment received thus far, and that will be done in the future, will all be cash pay. That being said, this fund will not cover all of the expenses but it will definitely be a significant contribution.
All mothers are precious and I want to do everything I possibly can to keep my beloved mother healthy and close to us for as long as possible.
Therefore, my family and I are asking for any help that you are willing to provide in order to prolong my mother's life. No matter how big or small your generosity WILL make a difference.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and we are forever grateful for your love and support.
Love,
Omar & The Liendo Family
