Hello! :)

About me:
My name is Anibal Astorga De la Cruz

●I am a leader in our young adults’ ministry called Lift at GateWay City Church San Jose. Where I empower young men and young women in the faith by; teaching about prayer according to what Christ modeled in the gospels.

●I currently lead the young men's group; addressing spiritual healing and recovery from fatherlessness, substance abuse and addictions through the studying of scriptures and resources provided by the church.

●I believe that my calling is to strengthen leadership within the church locally and abroad just as Matthew 28: 18-20 commands us. For this reason I have several mentors who are equipping me as a young leader, with the purpose of one day being released with the authority to impact church leadership.

●Within these past 3 years I've had the privilege of traveling to Northern Africa, which was a month long trip during my senior year of college. After graduating from my bachelor’s degree, I have been invited to speak at three small churches in Southern and Northern Mexico. My goal as a young speaker was to cast the vision of serving the surrounding communities; socially and spiritually as a church. These three opportunities I believe were valuable practice experiences for my future ministry.

A new chapter:
This past Mother's Day May 10, 2015. Our church hosted author and speaker J. Lee Grady, as he preached to the women and mothers at both services. Empowering them by giving revelation of how the women in the bible were used mightily for God's glory. As well as encouraging the women to take up leadership roles within the church. We met personally after the last service and made arrangements to meet and talk about the conferences he will have in Peru this September. He gave me the personal invitation to join him in Peru to help translate and preach to the women and families we hope to empower in both cities of Lima and Tarapoto about ending domestic violence as well as violence in general against women.

Salvemos a la Familia Conference in Lima and Tarapoto Peru 2015

J. Lee Grady is the director of The Mordecai Project,

“The purpose of this ministry is to (1) confront the global oppression of women; (2) empower women to discover their God-given spiritual gifts and ministries; and (3) equip Christian men, including church leaders, to recognize, value, protect and train the women in their lives. This mission is accomplished through books, preaching, mentoring, leadership conferences, ministerial retreats and television programs in various languages.”

“Lee is confronting all forms of abuse including domestic violence, female infanticide, denial of education to girls, forced prostitution and sex trafficking, female genital mutilation, mistreatment of widows and honor killings.  He also calls for the full participation of trained women in church leadership, and he challenges the global church to reject unbiblical religious traditions that encourage gender discrimination.”

For more information on this ministry that I will be traveling with, please visit www.themordecaiproject.org

Our goal is to build a shelter to house and protect women from abuse in the cities of the churches that will host us for the leadership conferences in Lima and Tarapoto Peru.

Why Go Fund Me?

I am reaching out to those who would want to support me further this cause in Peru with Lee Grady and The Mordecai project!

I need help raising $1,500 for:

●Roundtrip flight to Lima, Peru

●Traveling expenses within the country

●Trip dates September 10th-21st

Food and a place to lodge would be provided for me. I would like to purchase my ticket by July 15th. Once I’ve secured my ticket I will focus my efforts on helping The Mordecai Project raise funds for the actual shelters. If you are interested in donating to the shelters in the countries that have already built them, please visit http://www.themordecaiproject.org/welcome/donate

Ways I will contribute:

● Translating sermons to congregations
