My name is Matt March
My family truly is in need. My Brother-in-law Jordan who is a 27-year-old, previously healthy, father, son & brother, has been diagnosed with a very aggressive form of stage 4 cancer. Since his diagnosis, he has had many complications.
Unfortunately, in 2022 Jordan lost his health insurance through his mother's insurance. Jordan was waiting for open enrollment this December 2022 for insurance to start on January 1 2023 through his employer. In November of 2022, Jordan became ill and visited the Albany Medem Emergency Room. At that time he had an emergency colonoscopy with no clear diagnosis. Jordan was discharged and sent home. A short time later Jordan returned to AMC for worsening conditions. On December 14th Jordan returned Albany Med and was quickly diagnosed with acute renal failure and Stage 4 Burkitt Lymphoma, a very aggressive form of cancer. After 2 rounds of dialysis, the renal failure was, thankfully, brought under control. He then began 10 days of intense treatments and chemotherapy. After some complications and setbacks, he was finally able to come home on Friday, January 6. During the 24 days he was admitted at Albany Med Jordan was away from his 3-year-old son, Zane, and missed out on Christmas Day with his family. After only a few days at home, he has been readmitted for his second of what will be at least 6 rounds of chemo of either 7-day or 10-day durations, alternating with a week or two off between each round.
Jordan is the main financial provider for the family, Kira my sister is also not able to work right now as she either travels to Albany Med nearly every day that Jordan is there or she cares for Jordan when he is at home while taking care of their 3-year-old son.
As you can imagine this has been a very stressful and hard time for their family. Anyone who knows them knows they hate to ask for anything or any type of help. However, in this uncertain time, I have put this together to help take the burden off of their family a little bit. Anything is appreciated but nothing is expected! We ask that everyone keep us in your thoughts ❤️
Note: Jordan does not have any life insurance to cover the possible future needs of my sister and nephew. Jordan was able to qualify for Medicaid for his December bills but is still on the hook for his November 2022 AMC ER visit with an emergency colonoscopy.
