Help Greg Fight Cancer

****Thank you everyone for the well wishes. To clarify, Greg is no longer in the hospital and is continuing treatment weekly****

In November of 2016, Greg was having headaches unlike any he had before. By the third day of excruciating pain he finally agreed to go to the hospital. We were told that Greg had a mass on his brain and that they need to remove it as soon as possible. The diagnosis is Stage 4 Glioblastoma or GBM. It is an aggressive cancer that is incurable. We were lucky after the initial surgery we had a two year tumor free run. In November of 2018 another tumor was found. Greg had surgery once again to remove the new tumor and began chemo. He was getting stronger but in February of this year we were told that the tumor was already growing back for the third time. Later that same month his blood pressure spiked causing him to suffer a major seizure. Greg's speech was impacted severely. We are now teaching him to read and write again. Greg's short term memory has also been greatly affected by this. At this moment Greg is continuing chemo while being treated by his oncologist. He goes for MRI's every six weeks to monitor the tumor progression. On top of all of that, he is working with Speech and Occupational Therapists. As a result of all of this he has not been able to return to work.

Greg has spent his whole life in the service of others. He began his service as a young man in the Air Force and served in the 1st Gulf War. While in the Air Force Reserves he became a Bensalem Police Officer. After 22 years Greg retired as a Sergeant from Bensalem Police Department. He has spent his retirement volunteering at his church and working as the Coordinator of Student Affairs at an Elementary School. 

The goal of this fundraiser is to help support the Young Family during this devastating period in their lives. These funds will go towards Greg's medical bills, daily living expenses, and the support of Greg and Tina's two teenage children.
