Help after a house fire

On Thursday, January 9th, Katie & Tommy lost everything, including their beloved family pet, a cat named Coco, to a devastating house fire.

Katie, Tommy, and their four children, ages 12, 9, 9, & 4, reside in Rochester hills, Michigan.

At around 10 am on Jan. 9th, Katie received a call from the family's neighbor stating their house was on fire. The neighbor had already called the fire department after seeing smoke billowing out of the house. Thankfully, no one was in the home at the time of the fire.

The fire started in the basement from a pinched cord on a space heater (turned on to keep pipes from freezing). The pinch in the cord sparked, catching the nearby boxes on fire. The flames then quickly spread through the vents into the kids' rooms. The fire department arrived 3 minutes after the family's neighbor reported smoke coming from the house, but unfortunately, by that time it was too late to save any of the family's belongings or their sweet cat Coco.

Unfortunately, the family did not have fire insurance, so everything they lost in the fire has no way of being replaced.

My hope in starting this GoFundMe is that through our generosity, we could help Katie & Tommy begin to rebuild their home.
