Family Lost Home in a Fire

I am a neighbor to Jasmine, 4 year old Oliver, and his grandma; we live in Azalea Park in City Heights, San Diego. On January 20th, in the middle of the night, a raging fire completely destroyed a top floor apartment in the apartment complex that they live in. Jasmine, Oliver, and grandma live below this apartment. The firefighters were thankfully able to contain the fire and no one was injured (except a dog who sadly died), but the water used to contain the fire completely destroyed Jasmine's apartment---the entire ceiling collapsed, completely destroying the apartment and everything they owned in the living room and kitchen.

Jasmine did not have rental insurance and the owner of the property is not able to offer them help. Jasmine works at a dry cleaner and her mother works as she can with children. They are now homeless and will need to find temporary places to live while trying to find an apartment that is affordable to them with no financial means to do so. It is completely uncertain if and when this apartment will be reconstructed.

They also will have to replace all their belongings that they had in their kitchen and living room.

This fundraiser is to help Jasmine and her family get back onto their two feet again and get into housing after this tragic incident.
