Urban Quiz Bowl team needs funding

Roosevelt Middle School is an urban school located in Erie, Pennsylvania. Due to the district economics all students qualify for free breakfast and lunch. At this time, Pennsylvania still has no state budget, which means there is no funding available for public schools. 
     This is the third year Roosevelt has competed in National Academic Quiz Tournament competitions. For the second time we have performed well enough in tournaments to qualify for the national championships in Atlanta this May. Estimated expenses for the trip including travel, lodging, and entry fee to the tournament total four thousand dollars. Monies raised by the students will be used to defray the cost they need to come up with to make this trip happen. Currently the students are working a concession stand we've set up at school basketball and volleyball games, but there's only so much money in the resale of sport drinks and Airheads...
     To be able to compete in this tournament would mean a great deal to our hard-working students. We practice three hours a week, not to mention the time the students spend studying at home. Our Quiz Bowl team is a great point of pride at the school. Many of our students rarely get the chance to leave their neighborhoods let alone have the opportunity to compete in a national competition far away from home. It is an experience I hope myself and the generous GoFundMe community can make a reality.
