Hello, my name is Melissa and I’m trying to fundraise to help my cat marmalade.

On Friday, 26 of December he was hit by a car, and left her dead by the person that hit him.

A bystander witnessed this act, and stopped and grabbed my cat marmalade, with no idea who I am or who my cat is, thanks to this person, My cat is alive today. I will forever be grateful for them, and I know that marmalade is also very, very grateful for these kind souls.

But unfortunately, it doesn’t stop there, I was unaware of the incident until Sunday mid afternoon when I went to go post him missing.

I came across the post about a cat that had been hit in my area and looked to be my cat, I made my post regardless, just in case.

But unfortunately, it came to be that it was marmalade. That was the one that was hit.

his injuries are very, very bad, I don’t have the full extent of details yet, but he’s had two surgeries and still needs another one down the road.

The vet says that even in all this pain, and fear with everything new going on, marmalade is still being a very kind, sweet, gentle boy, and letting the doctors do what they need to do. He has always been such a sweetheart.

The couple that found him fell in love with him instantly as well and wanted to be updated on everything going on, it’s hard to explain the affect this cat has on people, he is truly one of a kind.

He was there when my dog had her puppies, and she let him be a part of the whole thing I was shocked to say the least, I never expected her to let him be a part of the birth and everything, and even lay with her puppies when they were very little, and then start to play with them as they grew. He was so gentle and careful not to hurt them never putting his claws out.

We kept one puppy from that litter, Hank and we make jokes all the time that marmalade is his uncle.

Hank is really missing his uncle marmalade, Hank’s mom, goose, she misses her brother.

My son misses his fluffy companion.

And I miss my baby.

The timing of all this really sucks, with it being the day after Christmas I have no extra cash to spare, I am going to start selling things that I got as presents for Christmas just to pay his bills if I have to…

I can update the post with his bills after I get them tomorrow but the estimate given to me was 1500-2000 for everything that’s already been done, and that he will need a another surgery in the near future on his teeth/ jaw, as he has allot of fractures.

good news is ! He is doing so much better than he was when he got brought in, he is a fighter and wants to live ! ❤️‍
