Help Chester with His Vet Bills

Donation protected
This is Chester - he's my 9-year-old medium short hair tabby. I found him at the Petsmart adoption center 8 years ago. 9 days after I lost my previous cat, Dinah. He became my best friend and also helped me with the grief of losing Dinah.

He has been the best pet companion I could have asked for. I firmly believe not only that he chose me that day, but that bringing him home was meant to be.

He has been a very healthy, active guy. Hardly ever any issues. He's had a few teeth pulled and minor issues that were easily cared for. Two weeks ago he wasn't acting like his chipper self. He started expressing that something was wrong (guttural meows and not wanting to be touched - unlike him as he loves pets & belly rubs).

I rushed him to the nearby ER vet. I was willing to do whatever it took for him not to be in pain and bring my best friend back to his loving, chipper self. They did a full x-ray, ran tests and determined that his intestines were inflamed. They determined it was either gastroenteritis or pancreatitis.

I have him on a diet now and he's on prescription food (thank you Chewy for their discounts) and is doing so much better. He's back to his cuddly, loving, purring self and I'm so grateful that the ER vet was there on a Sunday when nothing else was available. They were so kind and took such good care of him.

I took him to Chester's regular vet as a follow-up visit and he says he seems to be doing really well with his new diet. He wants to do some follow-up tests in a few months after he's been on his new food a little while. Meanwhile, I'm monitoring him for any changes.

However, now I have a $1,700 vet bill (scan of the bill included) on my credit card. I had been doing really well at getting myself out of debt and now I have this tacked on. I'm working on selling things to help pay off this bill and try to save where I can.

I have never put up a plea on GoFundMe before, but I'm really in desperate need to pay this off. Anything would help. I would be eternally grateful for any donation.

Thank you. God bless.
