Lets Help the Smith family!
Those of you who know Greg and Samantha know they would give the shirt off their backs for anyone in need. They have helped many people in their lives who have struggled.
They both have a lot of pride and have not asked for help, so now its our time to help them.
Greg had his fourth eye surgery today, it did not go well. If the pressure does not ease up they will be removing his eye in the next few days.
Greg is out of work again due to his health problems. They are struggling on one income. Samantha is working as much as humanly possible to support them and pay all of the bills. All the while they are towards the end of the adoption process for their son Thomas.
They need our help, any donation will help them get by. Not only will this help with greg's medical bills, it will help keep a roof over their heads and will help with the upcoming adoption fees.
For those of you who are not familiar with Greg's recent health story it is below.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mid November 2017
Greg was in nursing school after being laid off from his job of 10 years. He was diagnosed with with cellulitis in his foot and diabetes. Greg was released from the hospital around thanksgiving with a PIC line in him. He had to be driven to the hospital every single day to get a daily IV antibiotics directly into his PIC line.
Right around Christmas his other foot was causing his horrible pain. He had to have emergency surgery to put a plate and screws in. He was then diagnosed with Sharo (brittle bone).
Soon after he got MERSA infection and had to have another emergency surgery to remove the plate and screws. He had a open wound vac and another PIC line for daily antibiotics again. He could not walk at all during this time and this lasted for months.
June 2018
Greg was released to walk! He had completed his LPN and was forced to take a break and was not able to complete his RN. They were past the point of being financially drained. So in August he got his first LPN job.
October 2018
Greg was at work and bent down, when he stood he was unable to see from his right eye and could only see a small amount from his left eye. The next day he had emergency surgery on his left eye, it was unsuccessful.
He has since then had four surgeries on his eyes and all have been unsuccessful. He was told this morning after surgery that if the pressure on his right eye does not drop enough for him to not be in excruciating pain they will be removing his eye.
They did not have insurance until Oct 1st.
Please pray for this family and hope for miracle.
