Hello. Most people reading this may already know who I am, but I will take a moment to introduce myself. I am Tommie StarChild. Eight years ago I left my work in non-profits and followed a dream, I launched my own business. I started in a local farmers market, and basically failed. I listened to Spirit, stepped through my fears and continued to follow the dream. Then, in May 10th 2008, I open “My Authentic Self” a shop space within a larger business called Happenstance the Tribe.
Over the past seven years I have grown (from nothing), a working business as a spirit worker. I focus on client based services - spiritual counseling, Reiki, and conjure/spell craft. This has been a long, scary, and hard road. I have never had so much fear and faced so many challenges, but I listened to Spirit and the words (of my first sponsor) "heroes are people who are afraid, but do anyway." My focus is on helping individuals in becoming who they have always been, loving self, and healthy levels of self-esteem. This allows them to stand within their own power.
In this time I have dedicated myself to the service of the community, to be available for spiritual guidance and direction, in whatever that path may be. I also continue this through my volunteer work as a founding member of the San Diego Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence (a non-profit organization whose mission is to “Promulgate Universal Joy and Expiate Stigmatic Guilt”). I have also become a respected teacher/presenter, and a recognized elder within the local pagan community.
This brings me to why I have created this Go Fund Me - ("Tommie's Moonshine Magic Fund"). I saw a need to create supporting products (at an affordable cost) to offer clients and customers the opportunity to do workings for themselves. To do this, I was inspired to create “Moonshine Magic, Tommie StarChild Products,” this is in honor of my ancestors, and their history in this part of our culture. I have already launched a few new products – “Spiritual Cleansing Bath and Floor Wash,” my “BTFO” Pendant (for protection and send back magic), and “Wound Heal Oil.” My desire is to grow Tommie StarChild Products to include a small line of baths, sprays, oils, and powders for cleansing, protection, prosperity, and love (the primary workings most people are seeking). These will all be personally handcrafted using recipes I’ve created working with my ancestors, spirits, and faery contacts.
This is where all of you come in. It has taken seven years for me to create a business that is just barely covering the basic cost for me to live and keep my doors open. I had hoped that sales of the first three products could be collected to fund new products, but to date, they are only assisting in covering operating costs. Then today!, my computer has officially died! It lasted for eight long years and has served me well, but now I am in need of a new computer. I’m planning on adding podcast, webinars, etc..., so it will need to have the necessary capabilities to allow these additions. I have looked at costs of a new laptop/tablet convertible, and usable products range between $950 and $1100. The additional funds would be used to purchase ingredients, bottles, and packaging necessary to get Moonshine Magic products off to a more sure footed start.
I am not asking for these funds to create the entire product line, just to aid in getting a few more products created and on the self. It is my belief that this will give sufficient support to get this new venture up and running.
When I first started, my friend Cheryle (the owner of Happenstance the Tribe) often told me, that she could not wait for me to see me the way she sees me. This has become a driving inspiration in my work with others. I would not be where I am today if it were not for Happenstance the Tribe, my partners, friends and loved ones, and the community. I have been so deeply humbled by the amount of community support and encouragement I have received from all over the country. We have learned, in the Tribe, that it takes a tribe - if one makes it, we all make it; if one fails, we all fail. So, I am reaching out to the greater community for your loving support.
