Hi community! If you know me at all, you are sure to have met or heard of our great friend Jeremy Lanosga.
I met Jeremy over a decade ago when we moved into the house next door to him and his family.
Unfortunately, Jeremy suffered a traumatic spinal cord injury when he was 17 years old. He fell over 70 feet from a rock in the Garden of the Gods, Colorado
Right now Jeremy is living in Medellin, Colombia where he moved to pursue his dream of living independently as a physically dependent quadriplegic.
So, as we all know ,that plan is being diminished by the new "normal" of our lives living with the corona-virus. He is literally STUCK in his apartment right now has no means of securing income. He has been advised by all medical professionals to NOT travel, go outside, or have contact with ANYONE!
He is immune compromised because of his paralysis and at the highest risk of contracting the virus if he travels or leaves Colombia, at this time.
He is unable to pay his rent, utilities and daily living expenses on his own now because he can not go into public and work.
The greatest fear is that he would ultimately be evicted and be homeless in a foreign land.
As a community we can help Jeremy through this almost impossible time.
Any amount helps. If you are wondering the same thing I am right now, "What can I do"- this is the one cause where we can directly help a person form our own community stay safe and unafraid.
