Help Amber's Family Rebuild After House Fire
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Amber. So yesterday, my fiancé and I were at work, and I got a phone call around 5 AM that our house was full of smoke. I dropped what I was doing, ran to my car, sped home shaking, and praying my kids, animals, and house would be okay. I pulled up, immediately got everyone in the car with the AC, and called 911. Our neighbor across the street, thankfully, was awake and rushed over to take the kids to their house. They got there, and it was like a blur: firefighters, hoses, axes, and industrial fans. After it was put out and they aired the house out, they finally told me our dryer had caught fire. The basement all the way through our 1st floor has extensive smoke damage, and we have no electricity. By the grace of God, the Red Cross got us in a motel until Friday, and my supervisor at work got us all an outfit to at least be able to shower since our entire house and all of our clothes and belongings are melted or covered in soot. Then, as I'm at my dad's house trying to wash a load of laundry to hopefully get the smell of the smoke out so we would have at least another outfit, my fiancé went to get the kids something to eat, and his car broke down, leaving us to pay $125 for a tow two hours later. Just feeling so defeated and finding it hard to wrap my head around it all. We just need a jump start to get us to start to rebuild everything. The realty company that we rent from is going to get us a dumpster brought to the house because we have to throw out all of our furniture and all of our appliances. They have to rip out the carpet, put in new light fixtures, and paint the entire house from the first floor to the basement, so we'll need all new furniture, appliances, and such. Anything is greatly appreciated, even if it's a share or prayers to help us through this rough patch in our lives! It sure does pour when it rains.
