Theresa Lisone and her Baby Girl
A community has great power when it comes together for a cause. We All Need Each Other!
We need your help in raising $26,000 to pay for Theresa Lisone's medical expenses. Theresa is 6 months pregnant and doesn't have access to Medicare, so she's forced to pay her hospital bill privately.
Sadly, Theresa's plan of having her baby at home in the United States is no longer possible because the risk of flying may be harmful to her and the baby.
Theresa has been one of our valued supporters for the past two and a half years. Together with her husband Herby, they've been serving our community as missionaries in Sydney.
They now seek the help of our community…
Theresa was recently admitted to the Intensive Care Unit at Blacktown Hospital because of multiple blood clots in her lungs - one of the clots completely blocked an artery causing her great difficulty to breathe.
Doctors stressed the seriousness of this life-threatening problem and Theresa was forced to stay in hospital. She has spent a week hospitalised and thankfully her baby girl (due 17/04/19) is perfectly well.
Theresa is recovering well - her oxygen level has increased, she no longer requires a breathing machine and now only needs daily injections to help clear the blood clots. Theresa has been discharged from the hospital, but her treatment will continue at home and she has been required to attend appointments with specialists.
Theresa’s medical bills have become quite significant and she doesn't have the means to pay. Unfortunately she isn't covered by Medicare because she's on a bridging visa awaiting her permanent residency. The current bill is $18,800 and having to deliver the baby in Australia will incur another $7,000.
We ask you to please help Theresa by contributing towards this financial burden. Community Action Services Australia Inc. (CASA) is supporting this cause but we need your help. Our target is $26,000 to cover all of Theresa's medical bills.
Theresa and Herby's involvement in the community...
Australia has always been special to Theresa and Herby, so they willingly left the their home, jobs, family and friends to make a difference in our community.
They have served in various outreaches and programs for youth and their families. They have opened their home for group activities and more recently they've assisted in the men recovery program of Victory Outreach Western Sydney... helping the homeless and addicted recover from hardship and become productive and positive members of society.
All donations are tax deductible.
