Kidney transplant/ Medications

Hi Everyone my name is Marc Coronel, for those of you who don't know me, I am a Los Angeles Native, who grew active in my community  as a strong advocate of education and health and wellness. i am also 33 yers old and am the founder and CEO of Lifestyle Athletics LLC. Though many know me well, what many don't know is that I currently have End Stage Kidney Failure.

Overtime, my disease has gotten worse causing my kidneys not to work well enough to sustain my life. I've been hospitalized for over the last few weeks on emergency dialysis as doctors work hard to find me a new kidney through the organ donor transplant list. https://unos.org/

 MY HOPES .......

With over 100.000+ people on the same waiting list for a kidney, time is of the essence and without a healthy kidney, I don't have much of it left. I've been on a list now for 6 years now, and have seen a specialists in hopes of finding alternative medicine that will sustain me until the day i find one. Sadly many can wait years to find a match, or have died trying. However, there is another option: receiving a kidney from a living donor such as a family member or friend.

Here's some basic info about kidney donation:
- You only need one kidney to live healthy
- Most Surgeries are done laparoscopically through small incisions
- The healing time is generally two weeks
- The cost of evaluation and surgery will be covered by my insurance.
- You will have a separate team of healthcare professionals to evaluate you as a living donor. Their job is to help you understand the risks and benefits to make an informal decision.

You can also learn about living donation on the UCLA  website https://www.uclakidneydonor.org
They will be overseeing my healthcare.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story and connect you with the right resources to inform your decision, You can also contact my Transplant center directly at (866) [phone redacted].

Please help me by sharing my story with everyone you know. At the very least I hope my letter brings awareness to kidney disease to help save a life one day.

Warmest Regards,

Marc Coronel
