Hello there, my name is Eric Allain, the son of Tracy Allain. This fundraiser is for my mom's medical and living expenses during her LVAD heart surgery. She has been struggling with heart and other health issues since 2012 and her heart has gotten to the point that she is in end-stage heart failure and she needs a heart transplant, however, until then she will undergo a major heart surgery to have an LVAD implanted. An LVAD is a device that replaces her heart, taking over the normal functions a heart does, as far as pumping blood throughout your body. After surgery, she will have to have 24 hour care for the first 2 months of recovery meaning we will be losing 2 sources of income in the meantime, both my father's and brother's income as they will be her 24/7 caregivers. She will be back and forth 2-3 times a week between our home in Leiper's Fork in Franklin and Vanderbilt in Nashville which is roughly an hour apart. She will be having appointments along with cardiac therapy and lab appointments to have her blood checked because she will be on blood thinners for the rest of her life.
