Never thought I’d be typing these words.

On Friday 8.18.23 I found out that the cancer is back (honestly not sure if it ever went away) but this time it’s in my brain. I had been experiencing 2ish weeks of hardcore headaches and migraines. They were crippling— making me dizzy, unable to put words and movements together & nauseous. After a week of symptoms I called my oncologist and they scheduled me for a brain MRI at Dana Farber for 8/21 but throughout the next few days the symptoms got worse. Dana Farber was able to move the mri to Friday 8/18 but we felt like we wanted answers not just scans so we headed to the emergency room instead.

I ended up in the UConn ER where they found 8 tumors that range in size from 3cm to .6cm via ct scans and MRI. I was sent via ambulance Monday night to Dana Farber (it took days for insurance to cover things and find a bed in Boston) and I’ll be here the remainder of my stay.

I start full brain radiation tomorrow on Shea and I’s five year wedding anniversary. this treatment will target everything in my brain besides short term memory. I’ve started some medication to help keep that. I’ll do 10 radiation treatments and start chemotherapy after.

I miss my little boy and I’m going to fight so damn hard for him. This hasn’t been easy obviously. He asks me everyday if I feel better yet and when I say not yet but soon I get the typical 4 year old answer “why????”. I just want to feel strong and normal to play with him again.

I’m so thankful for everyone that has been helping us navigate this insanity. I love you all so much.
