Chad Ryan Meldrum was a strong athletic handsome young man. In high school he was a wrestler, he made it to state competition. He went on a mission for the Mormon church in Michigan. When he came home his mom noticed his hearing was not as good as it had been so off Chad went to the hearing doctor who said the amount of hearing loss in such a short time was concerning, this lead to referrals and doctors appointments that eventually lead to a diagnosis of NF2. This genetic condition predisposes a person to get tumors on the nerves. Chad endured many brain surgeries, losing all hearing. For the past several years Chad tried unsuccessfully to get the pain under control. Just a little boisterous cheering for the Seahawks could trigger a painful rest of the day. He would try to help his parents with their home repairs, but could last only a short time before the pain would be too much. Chad fought this disease and pain for many years. October 2nd 2016 Chad celebrated his 27th birthday. October 9th 2016 Chad ended the pain.
