Help Feed Orphans in Iraq – A Duty of Compassion and Faith

My name is Sabat, a 21 year old university student, and I feel incredibly blessed for the life I have the access to education, food on my table, and a roof over my head. But as I reflect on my blessings and I can’t ignore the heartbreaking reality that so many orphans in Iraq are struggling just to survive. These children have lost their parents, their providers, and their protectors. Many go to sleep hungry, not knowing where their next meal will come from. They face unimaginable hardships, yet they continue to hold onto hope.

As Muslims, we are reminded time and time again of our obligation to care for orphans. The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "The one who cares for an orphan and myself will be together in Paradise like this", and he held his two fingers together to illustrate their closeness. The Quran repeatedly calls upon us to support orphans, to ensure they are not forgotten or left in despair. Giving charity, especially to those most vulnerable, is not just an act of kindness but it is a responsibility and an opportunity for immense rewards in this life and the hereafter.

I have created this GoFundMe to raise funds that will go directly toward providing food, clothing, and basic necessities for orphans in Iraq.
