Support John's Recovery from Major Surgery
Donation protected
***Update #2: John was released from the hospital. He has been recovering from his surgery for about three weeks. He had his tubes removed before leaving the hospital and his incisions are healing up nicely. He is still moving around slow. I want to thank everyone who donated and shared from the bottom of our hearts. It made a huge impact to John knowing that so many people cared and poured out their support.
***Update #1: my brother John just had to undergo another surgery as his lung has collapsed again and retaining too much fluid. He has two tubes now to hopefully get that fluid out! We need your support more than ever!***
Hello everyone, my name is Katie, and I live in Central Texas. I’m reaching out in hopes of raising funds for my brother, John, who recently underwent major cardio-thoracic surgery due to a collapsed lung.
Unfortunately, he’s experiencing complications with his recovery and remains in the hospital, where he will likely stay for some time. In addition to this, he is also battling emphysema.
These funds will go toward helping John with medical expenses and covering lost wages while he focuses on healing.
If you don’t know John, he’s the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back—even if it was his last one. He’s always there to lend a hand, even when you don’t know how to ask for help.
John has dedicated his life to serving others. Before joining the military, he was a volunteer firefighter, always running toward danger to help those in need. When the devastating fertilizer explosion in West, Texas, occurred, John was there—selflessly putting himself at risk to help. He later went on to serve in the U.S. Army as an Apache mechanic.
After his military service, John pursued his passion as a skilled welder and fabricator, specializing in exotic cars. But more than anything, he is a devoted father to an amazing three-year-old boy—his whole world.
Today, when I visited John, I saw the weight of this situation breaking his spirit. That moment pushed me to set aside pride and reach out to our community for help. He doesn’t have to go through this alone, and I know we can show him the same generosity and kindness he’s always given to others.
If you’re able, please consider donating—any amount helps. If you can’t contribute financially, simply sharing this fundraiser means the world.
Let’s come together and remind John that he is loved, supported, valued, and not alone in this fight.
Thank you all so much for your kindness and support.
