Mary's Caregiving Costs

We've started this fundraiser to help offset the increasing costs for Mary's caregiving needs as she continues her battle with late-stage progressive MS.

As if it wasn't difficult enough having three teenagers to raise on her own, in 1996 Mary was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. Due to her declining health, she left her career as an operating room nurse several years later and moved to mid Michigan to be closer to her extended family. Her mobility and health have slowly and steadily declined, but through it all Mary has shown a quiet strength and optimism that have amazed everyone around her. She has been determined to stay in her home, and it's a testimony to her stubborness and adaptability that she's been able to do this.

Mary is now on hospice and has a group of skilled and caring staff, friends and family  surrounding her so she can continue to stay at home. Mary currently requires continuous care, and the costs of this are considerable. 

We are extremely grateful to anyone who remembers or appreciates her humour, empathy, strength, and sacrifice and who may be able to contribute to these costs.
