Top Surgery for Jess!

Hey there! My name is Jess (they/them) and I am a nonbinary, transmasculine person who is currently getting my Master of Social Work degree and planning to become a therapist who specializes in providing care for the LGBTQ+ community. I am raising funds to cover the cost of my Gender-Affirming Top Surgery on May 3.

Why Your Support Matters

I have been wanting this surgery for such a long time and this year is finally the time. I know that top surgery will allow me to feel so much more comfortable in my skin and embody my truest self.

I work as a barista, take online classes for my degree, and intern at a nonprofit that is helping prepare me to be a well-equipped social worker. There is just no world where I could afford this surgery without community support. I am a very diligent steward of the finances I have and I have been saving as much as I can toward this goal, but it is still not enough.

I am hoping to become a therapist who specializes in providing care to the LGBTQ+ community. In this chapter of my life, I am asking for community support by donating whatever you can.

Where the Funds Will Go

This is a surgical outpatient procedure that will take place at my local hospital and be carried out by Dr. Singh from Panacea Plastic Surgery.

Surgeon fees - $6000

Hospital fees (Facility, anesthesia, extra fees) - $3500

Post-surgical tissue biopsy & labs - $500

One month of Income replacement - $2,000

I will be unable to work for about 3-4 weeks and will be taking that time off to rest and recover. I have included the estimated amount for a month of income replacement to make sure I don’t have to worry about finances while I’m recovering.
