Baby Harper Lynn Stokes Fundraiser

On May 28, 2015 Kristen Stokes Gave birth to a beautiful 7 pound 3 ounce 22 inches long baby girl named Harper Lynn Stokes!! while Kristen was in Labor they came in to give her the epidural to have a normal birth, something went wrong with her epidural, which then caused her to have an emergancy C-section. Something went wrong during labor in delivery that has caused multiple problems for baby Harper. Within 4 hours of birth something went wrong and made her STATS drop and they immediatly started having to assist her breathing, time was passing and nothing was getting better so they sent baby Harper to Trinity hospital in Birmingham, The Doctor at Trinity told Kristen that she had a 50/50 chance of living and kept her hooked up to the venilator to assister her breathing. The Doctors realized after 4 days of being there that Nothing was getting better and that they needed to get Harper to Childrens Hospital where they could do more for her, They got the transport team picked up Harper and took her to childrens, Just from the trip to Childrens her 50 % chance dropped to 20%. As soon as she arrived at Childrens the Dr. called Kristen and told her that they needed to perform Emergancy surgery called ECMO stands for Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation. Extracorporeal means outside of the body. A membrane oxygenator is a piece of equipment which acts as a lung to deliver oxygen into the child's blood. The ECMO circuit acts as an artificial heart and lung for the patient while on ECMO.ECMO is a life-saving technique that mimics the natural function of the heart and lungs, allowing an infant or child to rest while natural healing of the affected organs takes place. It is used for newborns and children suffering respiratory and/or cardiac failure as a result of birth defects, trauma or severe infection. The Doctor informed Kristen that it was a dangerous Surgery and there was a chance she wouldnt make it through the surgery, But our God had plans for Miss Harper and he pulled her right through the surgery and got her stable! We know that Our Mighty God has his healing arms wrapped around Harper and that our Lord is in the miracle buisness and we believe that he will take care of our precious Harper!! Harper Lynn is still in the NICU unit at childrens hospital of birmingham, she is fighting so hard and her Mother Kristen is being so strong and trusting in God to get them through. I know this is the hardest situation that anybody could ever have to go through, the Love of your own child is the most love you will ever possibly feel and its pretty unexplainable until you experiance it, Having to watch your mew baby lay there suffer and be sick is the HARDEST thing i think a mother could ever have to endure, So i please ask to really lift Kristen and harper both up in your prayers for strength and peace and healing! Now i wanted to create this page to try and take as much stress off of Kristen that i can so she is not stressing about everything of how she is going to gwet back and forth to birmingham to eating out and also stressing about what is goin on with Harper, So please everybody if you can Please donate what you can if its $1.00 or $100.00 evrybit counts, We know that this is going to be a long Hard Expensive journey for the Stokes family! the cost of gas back and forth to birmingham from gadsden, the cost of family taking off of work to be able to get Kristen back and forth to Birmingham, Having to eat out everyday 3 meals a day, to having snacks to eat, Also the Cost of Having a place to stay Most nights in Birmingham so Kristen is Not so far away from her baby girl, She is on a waiting list for the ronald Mcdonald house but it is full right now but anyday a room should come avaiable for her and when it does she will have to pay to stay Everynight. This is going to get very expensive and Kristen Is not able to work right now because of having to recover from the csection and also so she doesnt have to leave her precious new babywho needs her Mommy there with her.
