My name is Alyssa (they/them) and I am raising funds to help pay for my gender affirming top surgery this January.

Top surgery is an outpatient procedure that involves the surgical removal of breast tissue to create a more masculine chest contour. This is often a treatment for those experiencing gender dysphoria and are looking to better align their body with their gender identity. Getting top surgery is a big step towards me feeling like the most authentic version of myself since I have struggled with feelings of discomfort around my chest since I was a kid.

With so much hate floating around the world right now towards trans folks and energy going towards limiting access to gender affirming care, it feels important to say that these treatments are life saving care for trans folks. I am so so grateful to have access to this care and a community to help me get there. While I am very lucky, many are not as lucky. Funds donated over the fundraising goal will be donated to Transformative Freedom Fund to help trans Coloradans remove financial barriers to transition related healthcare.

I am extremely grateful for any donations to this fundraiser to help me pay for surgery costs and help other trans folks in Colorado access life saving gender affirming care.
