On Saturday July 12th, 2025 , a devastating fire broke out in a neighboring unit of Erica and Chuck’s townhome and quickly spread, leaving their home badly damaged and uninhabitable. They lost nearly all of their personal belongings and are now faced with the painful reality of starting over.

Thankfully, their two beloved cats were safely rescued, and we are so grateful they are all physically safe. But emotionally and financially, the road ahead is incredibly difficult.

Erica and Chuck did not have renters insurance, meaning there is no coverage to help with the cost of lost items, temporary housing, or rebuilding their lives. They are now trying to pick up the pieces with nothing but the items they left with .

Anyone who knows Erica and Chuck knows how kind, hardworking, and selfless they are. They’re the type of people who quietly show up for others—and now they need us to show up for them.
