My name is Michael Dana. Some know me as Sifu Mike. I’m the sole owner and operator of tkfmma, the martial arts school, the YouTube channel, and the social media accounts. I’m also the person behind the webcomic on Instagram, TARFUBARcomics. I’ve been able to be a positive influence in so many lives through these outlets.
I wish to continue and that’s why I’m asking for your help. Cancer, covid, inflation, and my own refusal to treat people like dollar signs, have all combined to financially jeopardize my ability to educate, entertain, and help others. Currently my bills are more than my income. I’m not asking for much, just enough to keep me from going under and weather the storm. $6,000 is about all my school needs in a month. $40 is my smallest monthly bill. I haven’t paid myself since 2019 and an excellent credit can only go so far.
In my YouTube videos, I detailed my financial hardships as well as the things that I’d like to do for people, if these hardships weren’t hindering me. There’s only a certain amount of time in the day. Doing one thing means not doing another.
The very nature of my business depends on other people. That’s actually the case for a lot of things. When you think about it, there’s not much that only you can do to improve your life, but you can improve someone else's life. If everyone tried to make life better for the person next to them, this world would be awesome! You may not be able to save the world, but you can totally save someone’s world. Help me save mine. My mission statement has always been “A Better Living Through Martial Arts” but it’s hard to give people something you no longer have. Help me get it back.
