A quiet housemaid is caught in a bitter feud between a barbaric couple, unaware that a malevolent spirit bound to the manor is awakening to destroy its inhabitants.

Synopsis

In a secluded manor, an obedient housemaid finds herself caught in the midst of a feud between a volatile husband and wife. Unbeknownst to him, a malevolent spirit, lurking in the manor walls begins to awaken. As the spirit stirs, it targets him specifically, seeking to punish his abuse of power. The housemaid must navigate the growing tension between the couple while the vengeful spirit threatens to destroy the husband for his transgressions.

Director's Statement

This is a film about the manifestation of resentment in violence. Two forces of violence culminating in an extreme duality as a result of their own individual exploitation. Evelyn’s violence manifests in a physical form because of the physical abuse she has been subjected too.

Maxwell’s violence manifests itself in emotional and physical bodies because of his relationship with his parents, the insecurity of his upbringing, amplified by his alcohol abuse.

Ultimately Evelyn’s metamorphosis takes on the concept of ‘female rage’, a breaking point of the exhaustive entrapment yet exploitation she faces as a woman in a patriarchal society; one which is perpetuate by her husband and parents.
