Buddy needs emergency surgery

Our family dog Buddy (Golden Retriever) that we all love and cherish was in a horrible accident on SEPTEMBER 22, 2021 around 6pm there is speculation that a truck hit him and that caused his femur bone to break in half.

 

We are fortunate that he survived the impact, although he is suffering from a badly fractured femur he needed surgery.

 

WE rushed him to the emergency vet and he had to go under surgery immediately to get a plate and screws installed on SEPTEMBER 23rd 2021. That surgery alone cost us roughly about $5,000

 

 

 

 

 

Buddy is still very young and has a long and happy life ahead of him but we need financial support to get him on the road to recovery and to help pay for his second emergency surgery....

 

We received devasting news at Buddy's 6 week surgery post check up which was on Nov 4th, 2021 and unfortunately Buddy is going to need emergency surgery again! Screws broke from the plate and his bone is not healing properly. On the picture below you can see the screws out of place.

 

 

 

 

This is the worst news we could receive for Buddy we thought he was making good progress but unfortunately this is not the case.

 

We need financial support to get him on the road to recovery a second time since the final stabilization and surgical costs are anywhere between $2500-$3500 (for a second surgery)

 

Beyond these costs, we are anticipating costs for rehab that Buddy will need in order to regain mobility, which will take 8-10 weeks.

 

His veterinary expenses are definitely unexpected and are adding up to a great amount since this is his second emergency surgery.
