Help the Hales
Hi! This is Liz Hixson, I'm married to Wittney's brother, and we are trying to support Wittney, Tommy, baby Ace, and the kids during this incredibly challenging time.
On Thursday, August 5th, Wittney was admitted to the hospital with COVID-19 at approximately 27 weeks pregnant. By Monday the 9th, she had worsened, was sedated, and put on a ventilator. The doctors had to deliver Baby Ace via bedside C-section in the ICU. This little fighter was born weighing 2 lbs and 15 oz. He is doing great.
On Thursday the 12th, Wittney was taken off the ventilator. However, over the next couple of days her lungs just weren't able to continue healing as the doctors had hoped. On Sunday the 15th, she was placed back on a ventilator.
All things considered, we are seeing progress and her body is resting while being sedated. However, we are fervently praying for her lungs to continue to heal and that when she does come off the ventilator again she continues to head in the right direction.
Our goal is to raise $10,000 for the Hales. $6,400 will go towards medical bills. The remaining amount will go to help fill in the gaps of everyday expenses as Tommy continues to be home from work with the kids (and recovering from COVID-19 himself). During this trying time, we can help relieve just some of the stress they are facing by supporting them financially. The family has a LONG road ahead of them, but we are praying for the day when Wittney is healthy and able to meet her sweet baby boy and for the entire family to be reunited again.
