Jessica is Winning the Fight Against Cancer!

Donation protected

Hello! My name is Patti and I am here to share my precious niece’s story in the hope that we can help her not only beat breast cancer but fulfill her dream of becoming a mother.

As many of you know our dear friend and family member, Jessica Miller (Flanagan), has been diagnosed with invasive ductal carcinoma in situ breast cancer and she needs our help. Jessica is 38 and lives in Ohio. Her oncologist presented the standard treatment plan of a double mastectomy followed by chemotherapy and/or radiation. She has been in a state of shock and despair since learning of the diagnosis and treatment.

It has always been Jessica’s dream to become a mother. As a little girl, she mothered her stuffed animals and any dog or cat that would allow it. As the middle child and only girl, she would also mother her two brothers. Her dream to become a mom has only increased as she’s grown into adulthood.

After, careful consideration Jessica has chosen not to undergo chemotherapy or a double mastectomy.

Instead, looking at different treatment options, Jessica discovered Dr. Dennis Holmes, an Integrative Oncologist located in Glendale, California. Dr. Holmes is an expert in breast cryoablation (tumor freezing) with over 15 years of experience. Cryoablation has been used for many years on liver, skin, and cervical cancers, as well as benign tumors of the breast. Now it’s a groundbreaking new treatment for freezing eligible breast tumors. Cryoablation is performed using hollow needles through which cooled, thermally conductive fluids are circulated. Cryoprobes are positioned adjacent to the target in such a way that the freezing process will destroy the diseased tissue. This treatment is breast and fertility conserving.

Cryoablation is not covered by Jessica’s insurance. The tumor is 1.5 inches so Dr. Holmes said she will need 6 treatments to gain the necessary margin to kill the cancer cells. Each treatment costs $7,400 and there is a $10,500 fee for equipment. There will also be travel and accommodation expenses to get from Ohio to California.

Just this September, Jessica married Tyler, and he is truly the man of her dreams. They can’t wait to start a family together.

Jessica was blessed to meet Mitch Marczewski from the Nightbirde Foundation (Jane's big brother from America's Got Talent) and he has partnered with her in the fight against cancer. He challenged her to raise an additional 10K and the foundation will double it! We invite you to partner with us in this mission with a donation of any amount.

The Nightbirde Foundation is a 501c3 organization that helps young women diagnosed with breast cancer. Many young women are diagnosed with breast cancer every year with limited treatment options. The Nightbirde Foundation partners with integrative cancer clinics to help women get the treatment they need. The Nightbirde Foundation was formed in honor of Jane Marczewski aka Nightbirde who brought hope to many through her journey with breast cancer. The generosity of thousands of people around the world extended Jane’s life much longer than expected and enabled her to inspire millions with her message of hope and healing.

Tyler and Jessica had the honor of attending the first annual Nightbirde Night of Magic and Hope featuring America's Got Talent winner, Dustin Tavella! It was an amazing experience of bringing hope and healing to women battling breast cancer.

"You don't have to wait until life isn't hard anymore before you decide to be happy." Jane Marczewski aka Nightbirde

My family and I would be so grateful for any help you can give. Anyone who knows Jessica knows that she is a kind, genuine, and wonderful person. She is a daughter, a sister, a niece, a wife, and a friend. This has been an overwhelming and stressful time for her, and we want her to be able to focus on her health and recovery without the additional worry of finances and medical expenses.

For anyone who is not able to help financially, please take a moment and share this on your social media accounts. Also, a kind thought, word, or prayer for Jessica and her medical team would be very much appreciated.

You’ve got this Jessica! You have an entire community of friends and family supporting you in your fight!
