Justice for Moesha: Support Elijah and Demand Change

Dear friends, family, and supporters,

It is with a heavy heart that we share the untimely passing of our beloved Moesha, who only just celebrated her 28th birthday on 6th August 2024. Her infectious laughter and vibrant spirit touched everyone around her. Moesha was a loving and devoted mother and a beacon of joy and light to everyone who knew her. She leaves behind her precious 6-year-old son, Elijah, who was the centre of her world and her fiancé, Tom, who was her best friend and greatest love. Her sudden departure has left us not only grieving but also searching for answers.

Moesha was diagnosed with intracranial hypertension, a serious condition that causes excess fluid on the brain. Despite the severity of her diagnosis, she was not offered the necessary treatment or follow-up care—and was simply advised to lose weight.

In her final moments the doctors at the hospital were shocked to learn that no treatment was offered following her diagnosis and highlighted that surgery likely would’ve been the necessary treatment path for her. There will be an inquest to investigate the events leading to her preventable death, and we are determined to seek justice for Moesha and Elijah.

We strongly believe that Moesha was a victim of medical negligence. This is a devastating reality faced by too many – especially women who are often dismissed by medical professionals, leading to preventable complications for treatable illnesses. Moesha was ignored and made to feel as if she was overreacting, and now she is gone. This must change.

Moesha's passing has left us with the immense responsibility of ensuring that Elijah is cared for and that Moesha is honoured with the dignity she deserves. Unfortunately, Moesha did not have a will or any inheritance to secure Elijah's future. We are reaching out to you, our community, to help us raise funds for the following urgent needs:

1. Funeral Costs: To give Moesha the dignified farewell she deserves.

2. Support for Elijah: Establishing a fund to secure Elijah's future and long-term needs, providing him with the stability and opportunities every child deserves.

3. Legal Action: To seek justice for Moesha and hold those responsible accountable. Your support will help us pursue a medical negligence claim to prevent such tragedies from happening to others.
