Shaheed's Homegoing Celebration

"A great soul serves everyone all the time. A great soul never dies. It brings us together again and again." -Maya Angelou

Shaheed James , affectionately known as Shy, oldest son of three left us way to soon. Shy was a fun-loving 21 year old man whose smile could light up the room. As the eldest child, Shaheed learned to be the protector of his family and friends. Following in the footsteps of his father, Shaheed chose at an early age to become a devout Muslim.

Shy was known for his creativity and artistic skills. Shy's love of art won him first place in the Charles County Art competition and later an apprenticeship at "No Skin Policy". Shy began putting his thoughts on paper and setting them to music...thus starting his musical career.

Unfortunately, Shy's music career ended abruptly while fliming a music video. While on set, an incident occured that put his brother and friends in harms way. Shy did what he has learned and demostrated throughout his life; to protect which has unfortunately led to his demise.

The family has created this GoFundMe to help celebrate the life of Shaheed James and to fund his homegoing services. Our goal is to raise $15,000 so that Shaheed's family can peacefully lay him to rest. We appreciate the outpouring of love through calls, text messaging, cards, emails, visits and generous donations.
