Hello Dear Friends!
Unfortunately, I am creating this GOFUND me page to help Geoff and Brenda Atchinson. Caden's Dad(Geoff) and Grandmother(Brenda) were in a very serious car accident as Geoff was driving his mother here to CA from MI to be able to care for her.
Caden called Geoff at about 2pm on Saturday, 3/9, and all was going well and they were in Arizona and should be home around midnight. During the phone call, Geoff asked my mom for prayer and said, you know Nana, you have a direct hot line to Jesus! LOL! Nana and Caden prayed for them and to continue on their safe drive home.
They drove about 100miles and exited to get gas and while driving to the gas station, they drove thru "Green Light" and out of no where they were struck/t-boned on Geoff's drivers side, which caused his vehicle to roll twice. No fault of Geoff, there were witnesses that saw the
other car hit them.
They definitely had protection around them and amazing that a fire truck happen to be driving by, so they jumped out and assisted right away. 2 of them were paramedics and were able to talk to Geoff to keep him calm as there was a lot of blood , due to head wounds. The jaws of life were used to cut both of them out of the car and they were taken to the hospital, which happen to be one of the best trauma centers in Flagstaff, AZ. Again, Prayer and Angels by their side!
Geoff has suffered a broken sternum, fractured ribs, back injuries and 2-lesions to the head, one of which will need a plastic surgeon to be able to do skin graphs to close. The other one was able to close with stitches and staples. GrandmaBrenda has back injuries.
We are so happy they are now back home in Costa Mesa, but it will be a long recovery. Geoff will have about 3-6 months for recovery and Grandma a few months as well, which means that Geoff will not be able to work for quite a while and GrandmaBrenda is not employed.
Therefore, I thought I would do something to HELP them during this difficult time. I know they will need financial help and also visits, company in the near future. Home cooked meals, or easy meals to prepare would also be great. We would appreciate any donation to help them both and your kind, compassionate hearts and smiles!
