Maria’s Brain Surgery

Our beloved Maria went to a routine ear test to check why she was experiencing loss of balance and hearing loss. After an MRI, she found out she had a benign tumor in her brain. Acoustic Neuroma. 3 cm long. Next to her right ear. This tumor has been growing slowly for years. What she thought was the result of dancing next to the speakers, it required a little more attention.
This tumor is affecting her speech pattern and ability to walk, causing headaches, pain to her right ear. It needs to be taken out ASAP.
The surgery originally scheduled some time in November has been rescheduled for this coming Wednesday, October 26th. Her doctors, a group of three specialist, moved the surgery sooner because the symptoms got worse.
We all know Maria and love her bold personality, fierce honesty and caring heart. Above all, how she loves unconditionally and is always there to give a hand or advice.
María’s big heart has made a huge impact in the birth giving community, too. New moms and babies have received the best from her kind heart.
Let’s all send positive thoughts and energy, so that her surgery goes well.
Let’s give some of that love back!
Please join me in helping her pay for some of the cost of this journey. Our targeted goal will help with the medical bills, therapy and loss of income while she is recovering. Anything will help.
I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart for your help!
We will continue to update this page with the results of the surgery and recovery!
