Greetings in Christ!
My name is David Mathewes. I am a second year seminarian at Holy Trinity Orthodox Seminary in Jordanville, NY. I was born and raised in the North Georgia area, and I began attending the seminary last year at the advice and blessing of my spiritual father and Bishop, with the hope of being ordained and serving the Church through the priesthood. My parish is Our Lady, Joy of All Who Sorrow (ROCOR) in Cumming, GA.
Due to a dry Covid job market, it took me much longer than expected to find employment this summer, and I was unable to earn the funds necessary to cover tuition at Holy Trinity for the coming year. Additionally, the main scholarship that helped keep me afloat last year is no longer available to first and second year seminarians. If you are able in any small manner to assist my goal to further my education at the seminary in the hope of returning what I learn into our small, growing community of Orthodox Christians here in North America, it would be appreciated beyond measure.
