Rob's story from Brooke's point of view:

Rob visited the Dr. in 2015 for a colonoscopy.  After the procedure, Rob was packing up to leave as we were planning what great restaurant we would head to for lunch.  The Dr. walked in asking us to take a seat.  It was then that our world did a 180;  Stage 4 colon cancer.

We walked to another office in a daze.  Rob googled the statistics which resulted in disbelief, immediate prayer, and questioning God's will.

Chemotherapy started almost immediately thereafter. For the first session, we walked into the infusion room not knowing what to expect.  Every patient had their own life-changing story.   Rob and I spent the next 6 hours looking at one another, not knowing what to expect with reactions or side-effects as the 4 bags dripped into his line.  12 chemo sessions later, we visited a surgeon that did NOT agree to do the surgery.   We had another surgeon appointment lined up as we anticipated this.  He is known for being more aggressive and thus, agreed to do the surgery.  On 17 Dec, Rob underwent 10 hours of surgery.  He was able to extract the cancer lesions in the colon and liver.   That said, Rob will undergo another 12 chemotherapy sessions upon recovering from surgery (approximately end of January 2016).

Rob is an Army Veteran, single father living in Laurel with 2 awesome and amazing boys, ages 14 and 10.  He dedicates his time enabling them to be active and successful in many sports, music, and club activities.

The aggressive medical bills are mounting, short-term disability allows for 60% pay, and negotiations have begun with the 20+ billers.  This said, the chemotherapy bills have not arrived as of yet.  Health insurance is strong however the out-of-pocket is far beyond financial capabilities.

The MOST important need is prayer.  This is first and foremost.  Prayer for healing, Rob's capability to get through this next chemo round, Rob's ability to return to work, and the ability for this chemo round to be successful.

AFTER prayer, we ask for donation.  We cannot put a dollar figure on life.  However maintaining life has become a large and immediate need.  Every dollar raised will go directly to medical cost.

We greatly appreciate each and every prayer in addition to any and all donations.  Thank you for your time, prayer, and generousity.
