Support a Family's Fight for Stability and Health

Three years ago, I left a domestic violence situation with my three adult children. I have been struggling to support them on my own since then. Two of them have significant mental health problems that prevent them from working. My middle child has Autism, Tourette’s Syndrome, Profound ADHD, and Schizophrenia. My youngest has ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, and Anxiety with Somatic features. My middle child receives less than $700/month for SSI, and my youngest was just denied SSI and has to appeal.
I have been diagnosed with Anorexia Nervosa and have been battling this disorder since the age of 12. Recently, due to numerous factors (including my work as a child welfare social worker), it has gotten significantly worse, and I have been having heart problems. Doctors are telling me that I need inpatient residential treatment now or I could be putting my life at risk. My kids need me, so that doesn’t leave me with many options.
The problem is that the state of RI does not offer TDI (temporary disability insurance) for state workers, and I only have four weeks of paid time off accrued. My treatment will definitely go beyond this time frame.
I am really not one to ask for charity, but I need to be able to continue to provide for my children. This request is solely for them. We are in jeopardy of losing our housing while I am getting help.
Please consider donating if you can.
