Hi there! I know it’s been a hard couple of years for everyone due to COVID so I honestly don’t expect any donations, but I would be so thankful if you could. I feel like I’m at a dead end since my insurance and the financial assistance programs haven’t been very helpful. If you can’t afford to donate, a share is more than enough!
My name is Vy Tran, I’m 24 years old, and I’m currently a Mental Health Counselor specializing in culturally competent care at a non-profit organization. At the end of April, I had my second brain hemorrhage within the span of three years. Because brain hemorrhages are very life-threatening and it was my second, I had to have brain surgery (my first one was treated with radiosurgery but it didn’t work). I stayed in the hospital for two weeks, half of which was spent in the neuro ICU. I’ve had to relearn how to walk and how to do daily life activities like brushing my teeth and getting dressed.
As with all serious medical conditions, I’ll have to do check ups periodically. My life will probably never be the same. This experience has been traumatizing physically and emotionally, but unfortunately financially too. I’m very thankful to be alive, but now I have medical bills I cannot afford to pay.
I am hoping this will cover my medical bills, medications, and lost wages. 7,000 will be used to cover some of my medical bills and 2,000 will cover part of my lost wages while on unpaid medical leave.
I recently got accepted to my dream school for my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy, so I’ll be switching to part time soon. With these bills, my dream of going back to school is fading. I also used all of my paid time off when I was initially hospitalized that I’ve been saving for my wedding and honeymoon. Now with my medical bills, I don’t know if I can afford what could’ve been monumental life moments.
