Twin to twin transfusion syndrome
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
So we went to our 12week scan to surprisingly find out we are having identical twins. This was a big shock! But very happy to find this out. We then went to our 16weeek scan to find out that 1 baby is behind by 1 week compared to the other this is called TTTS with twin 1 being smaller and not getting enough fluid then twin 2 this is called - TWIN TO TWIN TRANSFUSION SYNDROME. We now have been refered to St George's twin specialist hospital in London to monitor and to have laser treatment to make sure they give both twins a good fighting start and to give the other twin that's developing behind more blood flow and nutrients.
This is a expensive journey and we will need to do this every week to 2weeks with accommodation up there.
We hate doing things like this but we have had so much support and we feel like this is the time we have to do a page like this.
We hope you understand how worried we are about this and this gives us a fighting change that both will survive.
St George's hospital is 3 hours away from us and if any treatment is needed we have to stay up there and be monitored.
