Seven year ago my family moved to Big Island Hawaii to join Youth With A Mission. I was 9 years old at the time and though I knew the Lord had called me personally, did not know how He wanted to use my gifts and talents.
For the past three years I have been dancing Hula with Island Breeze Ministries, a ministry birthed at the U of N. I’m very grateful for the wonderful experiences that Hula has opened up to me, learning the traditional dances of the pacific islands and using that to minister and bless our local community.
Performing has really showed me the wonders of God in a new perspective and while I dance I try and portray that so others can see it as well.
This summer I was privileged to be asked to go on a tour with my hula Halua (hula studio) to New Zealand. It is a three week tour from July 1st to the 22nd and while in New Zealand we will be dancing at churches, schools, and Maori villages, sharing the greatness of God through our dances.
In order to get to New Zealand I need a total of $2500 which includes airfare, ground fees and transportation. Our team has been fundraising with car washes, bake/food sales, and yard sales and I have raised about $500 towards my trip.
